SC Voters now have three methods of voting:
  • Early Voting
  • Absentee(BY-MAIL ONLY)
  • Election Day
EARLY VOTING IN EFFECT IN SOUTH CAROLINA

COLUMBIA, SC (May 13, 2022) – Governor McMaster, on Friday, May 13, 2022, signed into law legislation passed by the General Assembly that establishes early voting in South Carolina. Any voter can visit an early-voting location in their county and vote like they would at their polling place on Election Day. Absentee By-Mail balloting is available but with significant changes to the application and balloting processes.

Absentee Voting

Absentee application request must only be made in-person, by U.S. Mail, or by phone.
Voters planning on voting prior to Election Day must vote during the Early Voting period or apply for Absentee By-Mail ballot.

Identification at Election Polls or Early Vote Centers

You will be asked to show ONE of the following Photo ID's at your polling place:
  • S.C. Driver's License
  • ID Card issued by S.C. Department of Motor Vehicles
  • S.C. Voter Registration Card with Photo
  • Federal Military ID
  • U.S. Passport
Precincts and Polling Locations

The list includes regular precincts and locations. Temporary polling location changes are updated the day prior to any Elections/Primaries.
