Aiken County Tax Sale Slated for November 3

Aiken County will hold its annual Delinquent Tax Sale starting November 3. Pre-registration begins October 1 and will run through October 31 in the Tax Collector’s Office. Those that do not pre-register may register the morning of the Sale beginning at 9:00 a.m. There will be a $25.00 registration fee for each bidder number issued; this also includes a Call List of the Sale. Those wishing to participate should refer to the Bidder Instructions and Tax Sale List for more info.

The Tax Sale will be conducted in the Sandlapper Hall, located on the 1st floor of the new Government Center. Seating will be provided but space is limited. Only those with valid Bidder Numbers will be allowed into the auction area. The Tax Sale will begin at 10:00 a.m. and run until 4:00 p.m. Remaining properties will be auctioned the following day, beginning at 9:00 a.m.

On the days of the Sale, those participating should park in the front of the Government Center and enter through the lower front entrance. Signs will be provided to direct those participating to the correct parking area and building entrance.

Absentee Voting Now Underway for November Election

Absentee voting is now available through Monday, November 3, for the November 4 election.

This year, all absentee voting will occur at the Registration & Elections office on the first floor of the new Government Center at 1930 University Parkway in Aiken. Please park in front of the building and use the first floor front entrance.

You may vote absentee at the office between 9 AM and 5 PM Monday-Friday, and 9 AM and Noon on Saturday, November 1.

The deadline for registering to vote for the November 4 election was October 4.

Dairies of Aiken County Exhibit

The "Dairies of Aiken County Exhibit" will continue through October at the Aiken County Historical Museum.

Remember those days when milk was delivered right to your door? Come visit the Museum and learn more about the people and the dairies that served this area. A highlight of the exhibit is the "new" Haskell's Dairy rhyme written by the Yurcan family of Aiken.

Government Center Now Open

The Aiken County Government Center is now serving the public at 1930 University Parkway on the Aiken bypass.

The new facility is located across from the SC DOT Aiken headquarters and about a half-mile west of the SC 118 intersection with SC 19 North.

To pay taxes, get a building permit, or visit RMC, visitors should park behind the building and use the main entrance to enter the second floor level. A drive-through is also available for tax payments behind the building.
