Sheriff Opens New Substation
April 24, 2004
Sheriff Michael Hunt joined Aiken County Councilman Willar Hightower Jr. and Leonard Harrison, (president of J.W. Nicholson Community Park) this morning to formally mark the opening of an Aiken County Sheriff's Office substation in Aiken.
The new substation is located at the J.W. Nicholson Community Park, 320 Community Drive, in Nicholson Village. "We're building partnerships with the community," said Sheriff Hunt. "From a practical standpoint, it gives our deputies a place to do paperwork, return telephone calls and stage people and equipment in the event of a major incident." ACSO now operates seven substations throughout Aiken County: Belvedere, Beech Island, Clearwater, Langley, Monetta, Nicholson Village and Wagener.
