Report Out of State Vehicle Tags

This program enables citizens to report owners of vehicles that may be evading South Carolina's Personal Property tax laws. Both expired SC tags and out of state tags may be reported using this form.

Under South Carolina law, citizens who move to South Carolina have 45 days in which to register vehicles if the individual:

  • Establishes a domicile
  • Establishes a business
  • Obtains employment
  • Enrolls their children in Aiken County Schools
  • Obtains a South Carolina driver's license

To enable the Auditor's Office to fully investigate your tax evasion report, please provide us with as much information as possible. The fields with a red asterisk (*) are required fields and must be completed before you can proceed.

When you have completed your entry, click the Submit Vehicle button (multiple vehicles can be submitted by filling out the form again). You will receive a confirmation that the tag number was successfully added and that your report will be investigated. All entries on this form are anonymous.

Citizens may also call 642-1511 anonymously to report vehicles. Please have the tag number and state, and owner name and address if available.

If you have previously submitted an Out Of State Tag, you can check the status here.
